BCU 2 Star Canoe and Kayak Course

The BCU Canoe and Kayak 2 Star Course is the perfect skill level for aspiring club paddlers and novice coaches.

Your BCU 2 Star Canoe and Kayak course will take place on Beaulieu River, a beautiful Hampshire Estuary – perfect to further your paddling skills.  Prior experience is essential, as you need to be comfortable capsizing and paddling on flat water.  The emphasis of the course is on safe practise, fun and enjoyment.

We supply all the equipment you’ll need to feel comfortable on the water and have range of boats for you to try throughout the course. If you have your own kit, feel free to bring it along with you.

BCU 2 Star Training (2 days)

BCU 2 Star training courses take place over 2 days, with the course including elements of both Canoeing and Kayaking. You’ll receive coaching to grasp the fundamentals of and leave with an action plan to prepare for assessment. This course is open to those with experience at or above one the BCU One Star award.

BCU 2 Star Assessment (1 day)

BCU 2 Star course assessments take place over one day, successful candidates will show there basic skills in both craft over a guided journey. BCU Two Star assessments are open to those who have logged 3 journeys in Canoes or Kayaks and have completed some form of BCU 2 Star training.
