Sea Kayak Improver's Course

Four days of coaching and journeys on the glorious coastline of Hampshire and Dorset.

If you have some experience of Sea Kayaking join us for a fantastic coaching course to improve your enjoyment of paddling on the sea. At the end of the four days you’ll be paddling confidently and planning a variety of basic trips on the sea.

We’ll look at technique, planning, and safety whilst taking into account your own aspirations. Each day you’ll help choose the best venue for the group and conditions

Ideal for people with some experience (3 hour Introduction / Day trip Hampshire, Dorset). If you’re happy capsizing and paddling a Kayak on flat water you’ll get a lot of value out of this course.

Sample outline of the trip

Day 1 – Beaulieu River Hampshire / equipment and set up, basic techniques and safety, planning

Day 2 – Lymington & Keyhaven Hampshire / group management, journeys on the sea

Day 3 – Studland Bay Dorset / handling the wind and waves

Day 4 – Jurassic Coast Dorset / Problem solving on the sea & dealing with common scenarios

• Participants must be 16 years or over.
• Meet at Baileys Hard on Beaulieu River on the first day
• We’ll supply all the kit you need
